US House of Representatives demanded release of Armenian captives

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Nicaragua emphasized the promotion of political dialogue

On September 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, participating in the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Moncada. During the meeting Minister Mirzoyan underscored the readiness of the Armenian side to develop relations with the Central American states, particularly with Nicaragua. On September 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, in the framework of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly, held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Greece exchanged views regarding a number of urgent issues of the regional and international agenda. Minister Mirzoyan briefed his Greek counterpart on the situation resulting from Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Artsakh, underlining the immediate need for repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and captured civilians. Minister Mirzoyan stressed the importance of resuming the peace process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship. [RA MFA]

The work of the OSCE Minsk Group continues. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrey Rudenko today in an interview with TASS news agency. "Contacts are continuing, although they are not so public," the diplomat said. According to the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, the co-chairs plan to hold talks with the heads of the diplomatic departments of Armenia and Azerbaijan in New York in the coming days.

Alen Simonyan and Andrea Wiktorin emphasized the implementation of the programmes aimed at the activation of the cooperation in the parliamentary format

On September 23, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia, the EU Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin. The sides touched upon the present phase of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, documenting that the issue settlement should be under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship. In this context the issues of the regional stability and security were discussed. They referred to the provocative actions being carried out towards the RA sovereign territory by the Azerbaijani armed forces’ units. At the end of the meeting both parties emphasized the implementation of the programmes aimed at the activation of the cooperation in the parliamentary format.
