During the National Assembly question-and-answer session, deputy Hovik Aghazaryan asked whether the peace agreement to be signed should not be followed by the adjustment of the borders.

At first, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan answered the question, noting that there could be peace or establishment of relations, mutual recognition agreement, from which various processes, including border demarcation and demarcation, would result.

"It can be the other way around, with a package approach, all the issues in one contract with all the details, there can also be separate processes: borders are demarcated, communications are determined, opened, and then there is a final contract. In my opinion, it is possible to sign a recognition agreement, record the most important issues, and parallel processes, for example, the border delimitation process,"  Mirzoyan said.

Then RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also addressed Aghazaryan's question, saying that the issue is important.

Pashinyan noted that he has taken the responsibility of making difficult decisions for the sake of peace, but this does not mean that these decisions should contradict the state interests of the Republic of Armenia.

"We must go to them to guarantee the security of Armenia, lasting peace. We want to sign a paper, as a result of which many people will criticize us, curse us, call us traitors, the people may even decide to remove us from power, and we will be grateful if as a result of this, Armenia will get lasting peace and security with an area of ​​29.800 square kilometers. I will most likely sign the decision that will ensure this. I am not interested in what will happen to me, I am interested in what will happen to the Republic of Armenia," Pashinyan stated.
