As reported earlier, Edward Asryan, head of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, said at a meeting with diplomatic representatives in the RA in Jermuk that "currently, the groups of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces units are located 4.5 km away from the gates of the city of Jermuk".

After the meeting, in a conversation with journalists outside, he showed the areas where the Azerbaijani armed forces have reached. He specifically mentioned that only one group of the enemy is located at a distance of 4.5 km from the Jermuk gates. 

"And from the top of the hill, (where that group is located, - ed.), to the right and left, that is, to the south and north, the depth of the enemy's penetration, taking into account the distance from the city of Jermuk, is 8, 10 km," he stated.

He emphasized that it should also be understood from a tactical point of view that the enemy did not reach Jermuk's gates with the attack, but only one group, which was cut off from its units, was on the top of that hill. 

"And from the point of view of viability. if that group of the enemy is not supplied with both food and water, there is a specially prepared unit, then within a few days their resources will be completely exhausted, and they will have to leave there,"  he said.

Asryan reminded that he presented at the meeting that the group was surrounded from the sides by Armenian units, stressing that he considers the tactical situation to be stable, and as a result of the skillful actions of the Armenian side, that group will leave there.

"We will not allow their viability to be ensured, there will be no movement of vehicles to our territory, and currently there is none. They are not able to bring their food and water and provide them, and losing their vitality, the group will retreat and join their main units, which are located at greater distances from Jermuk's junctions, 7, 8, 10, even on the order," he noted.

The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces also said that today they also observed that a group of 50-60 people of the enemy retreated to the RA state border. 

"This is the situation," he concluded.
