The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border

On September 23, around 07:40, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces again violated the ceasefire regime, opening fire from rifle weapons of different calibers in the direction of the Armenian combat positions located in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The enemy's fire was silenced by the retaliatory actions.
There were no losses on the Armenian side.

As of 18:00, there was no change in the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Aram Torosyan, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense informed.

 

Azerbaijan handed over 6 bodies to the Armenian side 


Today, Azerbaijan handed over to Armenia the bodies of 6 servicemen who died as a result of the aggression unleashed on September 13. Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs of the ICRC Armenian office, reported the information. She did not reveal any other details.

 

The US Embassy urges its citizens to avoid visiting some areas of Armenia

The US Embassy in Armenia urged US citizens in Armenia to avoid visiting some places in Armenia because of the "military operations on the Armenian side of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on September 13-14."

The embassy specifically urged to avoid visiting

 - Tavush, all areas north of Ijevan, along the M4 highway and to the east,

 - Gegharkunik, east of Lake Sevan,

 - Gegharkunik, south of Lake Sevan and east of M10 highway,

 - Yeraskh village, Ararat,

 - Vayots Dzor east of Yeghegnadzor,

 - Syunik:

Travel to Nagorno Karabakh remains prohibited.

 

Nikol Pashinyan and Antony Blinken met in New York


RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, RA Prime Minister's Office reports.

The Prime Minister referred to the large-scale aggression undertaken by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, highlighting the clear positions and evaluations of the USA regarding what happened. The head of the RA government highly appreciated Mr. Blinken's efforts to support the negotiation process and dialogue. Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of the international community's condemnation of Azerbaijani actions, the withdrawal of Azerbaijani units from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the return of Armenian prisoners of war held on the Azerbaijani side, and adequate response to other humanitarian issues.

Antony Blinken emphasized the willingness of the US to continue its efforts in the negotiation and peace process, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and long-term settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, including for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The US Secretary of State emphasized the trilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in New York and expressed hope that the dialogue will continue in the near future.

At the meeting, thoughts were also exchanged on the continuous development of Armenian-American relations and other issues of mutual interest.
