As of 22:00 on September 26, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable, no change in the situation has been recorded. This was reported by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Aram Torosyan.

Nikol Pashinyan met Emmanuel Macron in Paris

The meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron took place at the Élysée Palace in Paris. After the greeting ceremony, before the meeting, the leaders of the two countries made statements to media representatives.

"The situation on the border continues to be very dangerous," President Macron believes.

He emphasized that France is convinced that the use of force cannot be a solution to the problem for any of the parties and that the dialogue should be resumed immediately. Macron emphasized again that all issues should be resolved exclusively through negotiations.

"I call for peace and resumption of negotiations," he said.

The President of France informed that he will discuss the strengthening of the ceasefire regime with the Prime Minister of Armenia in Paris in order to avoid a new escalation of the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Macron also announced that he will have a conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in the coming hours.

Azerbaijan asked the ECHR for additional time to provide complete information about the POWs

In response to a series of requests by the RA government to apply an interim measure against Azerbaijan to the European Court, the Azerbaijani government has asked the European Court for additional time to provide complete information about the prisoners of war, RA representative on international legal issues informs. The request was granted by the court. The new deadline for Azerbaijan is September 29.  

Armenia not to participate in the military exercises of CSTO in Kazakhstan

This year, Armenia will not participate in the military exercises to be held in Kazakhstan within the framework of CSTO because of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the RA Ministry of Defense informs in response to Infocom's inquiry.

On September 22, the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan announced that from September 26 to October 8, the exercises "Interaction 2022", "Search 2022" and "Echelon 20222" will be held with the collective rapid reaction forces of the CSTO in Zhambyl and Almaty regions.

Information was circulating on the Internet that Armenia will not participate in the CSTO military exercises this year. Infocom sent a request to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia to find out whether Armenia will participate in these military exercises and will send military personnel from Armenia.

In response to our inquiry, the Ministry of Defense informed that taking into account the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as a result of the aggression carried out by Azerbaijan, the RA Ministry of Defense, based on the problems faced by the RA Armed Forces, has made a decision to refrain from the participation of the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the exercises to be held in the framework of the CSTO in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Atilla Çiçek, and Hussein Yıldırım, Kurds by nationality, have been wanted in the Republic of Armenia since August. In addition to the statement released by the RA Ministry of Justice regarding Atilla Çiçek and Husein Yıldırım, who are Kurdish nationals, the Ministry also informs that on February 23, 2022, on the basis of the appeal of the verdict, the RA Criminal Court of Appeal made a decision to overturn the sentence in terms of punishment and amend the annulled part, imposing a final sentence of 5 years in prison, and the type of punishment in confiscation of property was left unchanged. At the same time, in accordance with the relevant article of the Criminal Code, the punishment was not applied conditionally to them, a probationary period of 3 years was set. The restraining order against both was lifted by the court and they were released from the courtroom.
