The president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace agreement, Armenia is not ready.
“We are ready to sign a peace agreement with Armenia. We are ready to begin this work. However, there is no reaction from Armenia, there is no official reaction. The information we have received through unofficial channels is that Armenia is not ready for this. I think this would be a big mistake.” said Aliyev on July 14 at a meeting in Baku with family members of servicemen who participated and died in the war.
The President of Azerbaijan, considering the conflict between the two countries “resolved”, stressed that the parties should recognize the territorial integrity and borders of each other and begin the process of delimitation.
Aliyev believes that international organizations are now reacting positively to the delimitation work. “If Armenia does not want to do that, it is up to it, but let them think carefully before it is too late.” said Aliyev.
