Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, told the reporters about the construction of new infrastructures, noting that the unblocking applies to both Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Both should unblock transport routes and start communication, which will benefit not only us, but also the neighboring countries in the region,” he said.
“Everyone knows that the railway passed through Nakhichevan, Meghri, and if it is decided that the railway needs to be operated, then this direction needs to be restored. There was a railway in the direction of Ijevan during Soviet years. Presumably, when there is peace in the region and we can fully unblock it, I think it will be economically profitable to use this direction as well,” Sanosyan said.
