The Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan commented on the Turkish-Azerbaijani military drills held near the Lachin corridor, assessing them as actions disrupting the steps towards de-escalation.
“We consider the conduct of Turkish-Azerbaijani military drills in the borders of Armenia and Artsakh, as well as in vicinity of Lachin corridor as actions disrupting the steps towards de-escalation, which are inconsistent with the spirit of the Statement of November 9, 2020, and undermine the efforts of establishing lasting peace, security and stability in the region,” Hunanyan said.
The armed forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan are conducting military exercises in the Kashatagh (Lachin) region, which came under the control of Azerbaijan after the 44-day Artsakh war.
