Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev confirmed his country’s readiness to start negotiations with Armenia on a peace treaty, calling on Yerevan to make a choice between cooperation and territorial requirements, TASS reports.
“The conflict is over, so Azerbaijan has already declared its readiness to start negotiations with Armenia on a peace treaty based on the principle of delimitation and demarcation of borders, mutual recognition of each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Such an agreement can turn our region into a region of peace and cooperation. Nevertheless, we have not yet seen a positive response from Armenia to our proposal,” this was stated by Aliyev at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
