By the decree of the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, Arshak Karapetyan was dismissed from the post of Defense Minister.

By another decree of the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, Suren Papikyan was appointed to this post.

Arshak Karapetyan was appointed Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia on August 2, 2021. On the same day Suren Papikyan was appointed to the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
