It’s necessary to form and start the work of a bilateral commission on the demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Lavrov

On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry published answers to questions of journalists received at a press conference by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation emphasizes that the Russian side proceeds from the need for full implementation of the trilateral agreements enshrined in the statements of the heads of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021 and November 26, 2021.

“Today, the priority tasks are the beginning of the process of demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as well as the unblocking of transport and economic ties in the region. This will make it possible to record significant progress in the settlement of relations between Baku and Yerevan.

As for the problem of POWs, Russia is actively involved in its solution. With the mediation of Russian peacekeepers, a total of 146 POWs were returned -127 to the Armenian side, 19 to the Azerbaijani side,” Lavrov said.
