Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Polish Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau.
Among other issues, the sides also discussed Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the upcoming trilateral meeting on April 6.
Touching upon the upcoming meeting in Brussels, organized through the mediation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that it will be effective.
“There have already been several meetings, and we must make peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia: sign a peace treaty as soon as possible. In our opinion, Azerbaijan has presented the basic principles of this agreement.”
Aliyev noted that “the conflict has already been resolved, and Azerbaijan has done it itself.” According to him, certain reports have been received from Armenian officials about the normalization of relations.
The President of Azerbaijan said that the five principles presented by them “reflect the norms of international law.”
“Mutual recognition of the territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders, and then delimitation: I think all this will lead to peace in the Caucasus,” Aliyev said.
