Armenia and Azerbaijan should recognize the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of each other’s borders, Hikmet Hajiyev, the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, said in an interview with TRT World, referring to the proposals submitted to Armenia.
“We presented to the Armenian side the basic principles of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They are formulated on the basis of the norms and principles of international law and are the basis of good relations. If you (Armenia – ed.) want to establish good relations, everything starts with the first and most important decision: Armenia and Azerbaijan must recognize the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of each other’s borders. Also must refrain from the use of force and the threat of force against territorial integrity,” Hajiyev said Interfax reports.
“Armenia must put an end to these territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Then, based on this, we will be able to move forward,” he added.
