The Azerbaijani MFA reacted to Pashinyan’s statements, noting that “Armenia’s desire to act in the name of peace is being questioned”

“The unfounded accusations in the speech of the Armenian Prime Minister cast doubt on the country’s desire for peace,” Leyla Abdullayeva, the spokesperson of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said commenting on the statements of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, minval.az reports.

“Unfounded accusations against Azerbaijan during a speech in the Netherlands, including on humanitarian issues, indicate that the position of the Armenian leadership is far from sincere in the settlement of relations between the two countries,” Abdullayeva said.

According to her, “the accusations of the Armenian Prime Minister that Azerbaijan doesn’t take humanitarian steps, doesn’t return the arrested Armenians, are inappropriate and unfounded.”

She noted that “the Armenian side should finally understand that for peace it is necessary not just to speak, but to act.”

“However, the fact that the Prime Minister of Armenia continues to voice unfounded accusations against Azerbaijan seriously casts doubt on the desire of this country to act in the name of peace,” Abdullayeva said in a statement.
