Edmon Marukyan published six points presented to Azerbaijan

In an interview with the “First Channel” Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan said he is authorized to publish six points of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan․

According to him, however, he sees that the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said non-diplomatic text stating that the points of the Armenian side cannot be considered a proposal. “Our response was sent in the same way their five points were presented.”

Edmon Marukyan said he is authorized to publish six points and added: “The first point states that Azerbaijan’s proposal was received on March 11, and we respond:

Second point: Armenia has never had and does not have territorial claims against the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The third point states that it is fundamental for the Armenian side to guarantee the security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, respect for their rights and freedoms, as well as the determination of the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Fourth point: The Armenian side considers important the commitments enshrined in the statements of the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation of November 9, January 11 and November 26.

Fifth point: The Armenian side is ready to start negotiations on the conclusion of a peace treaty, normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of the UN Charter and other international documents for the establishment of interstate relations.

Sixth point: In order to organize the relevant negotiations, the Armenian side appealed to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.”

Marukyan said that this is what the Armenian side presented in response to Azerbaijan’s proposals.
