After yesterday’s meeting with Andrei Volkov, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Artsakh, the participants of the meeting and a group of citizens organized a protest action today in Revival Square of Stepanakert.

Artur Osipyan, one of the participants of the meeting, and the chairman of the Revolutionary Party of Artsakh stated that they don’t believe the words of the Russian general, and that is why they are now turning to the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation to demand Baku to respect the tripartite declaration.

“Yesterday we did not hear anything that assures that Artsakh will be peaceful today,” Osipyan said.

The Artsakh opposition member says that they are not satisfied with yesterday’s meeting and that they did not receive any clear assurance from the commander of the peacekeeping troops that there will be no new incidents. According to Osipyan, they were informed by the peacekeepers that they do not have enough means and powers to counter the aggression of the Azerbaijani side.

“We have marked our red lines: if we already have victims, we have territorial losses, we have no intention of remaining silent. If you are not able to ensure a peaceful life here, then you should announce it, if you do not announce it, we will announce it,” said the chairman of the Artsakh Revolutionary Party.

Earlier yesterday, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh, Major General Andrey Volkov, met today with the representatives of the public and opposition of Artsakh. During the meeting, Volkov assured that the Russian Federation will do everything to prevent further escalation of the situation.
