On August 18, 2022, the Armenian media outlet 168.am published a news article about the inquiry made to the press secretary of the Security Council of the Artsakh in order to clarify the fact whether Azerbaijani reporter Eynula Fatulayev is in the city of Berdzor and the village of Aghavno in the Republic of Artsakh to carry out journalistic activities.

The inquiry was made through a phone call, during which the press secretary of the Security Council answered this question, saying “Yes… they like to use such things, don’t they?”, referring to the provocative misinformation tricks that are constantly found in the Azerbaijani press.

The literal interpretation of the content of the answer given by the press secretary of the Security Council can really give the impression that the given official denies the presence of Azerbaijani journalists in the territory of the Republic of Artsakh, while the real purpose of answering that question in such a wording refers to the falsehood produced and spread by Azerbaijani media workers.

On August 18, on behalf of the Artsakh Secretary of the Security Council, the Office of the Security Council answered the questions posed by the media. 

Turning in particular to the question of the activities of Azerbaijani journalists in the Kashatagh region of the republic, it was noted that the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh appealed to the commander of the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in the republic and demanded to prohibit the access of Azerbaijani and other mass media in the area of ​​responsibility of the peacekeeping troops, without the consent of the Security Council of the Republic of Artsakh and the peacekeeping troops.
