Russia is ready to further support the negotiations on the demarcation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The Russian delegation has expressed readiness to further provide advisory and technical support to the negotiations of the delegations of the two countries regarding the demarcation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the press release of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.

“President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in accordance with Putin’s agreement of November 26, 2021, on August 30 of this year, a meeting of the bilateral commission on the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with its further demarcation was held in Moscow, with the advisory support of Russia. The delegations of the parties were headed by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia Shahin Mustafaev, Mher Grigoryan, and Alexey Overchuk.

The event was preceded by the creation of the State Commission for the Demarcation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission for the Demarcation and Border Security of the State Border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the on May 24, holding the first meeting of the delegations of Azerbaijan and Armenia at the border of the two countries.

The dates of the new meeting will be agreed through additional diplomatic channels,” the Russian Foreign Ministry informs.
