Malkhas Amoyan wins a bronze medal in the World Championship

Malkhas Amoyan, a member of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team, became the bronze medalist of the World Championship.

In wrestling for the bronze medal in the 77 kg weight class of the World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, Malkhas Amoyan competed with the silver medalist of the World Championship, Viktor Nemesh of Serbia. Amoyan won 7:1 and became the bronze medalist of the World Championship in his new weight category.

Malkhas Amonyan lost to Hungarian Zoltan Leva at the start of this world championship. However, the right to further competition was given, as Hungary reached the finals of the World Cup. In three consolation matches, Amoyan successively defeated the representatives of Georgia, Sweden, and Kazakhstan.
