ICRC representatives visited the Armenian citizens in Azerbaijan detained as a result of the September military operations. Their capture was confirmed to the ICRC by the Azerbaijani authorities.

The ICRC informs that the meeting was conducted in the format of private conversations, contact was established with the families.

According to its mandate, during such visits, the ICRC assesses the treatment and conditions of detention of imprisoned persons, as well as helps to restore and maintain contact with the family.

Based on ICRC procedures, observations and recommendations related to the visits are passed only to the relevant authorities.
