The Council of Europe and the European Union call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to accede to Protocol 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights – banning the use of the death penalty in all circumstances – without delay.

This was stated in a statement published on the Twitter page of the Council of Europe.

It should be reminded that a few days ago, a video of the group shooting of Armenian prisoners of war by the soldiers of the Azerbaijani armed forces appeared on the Internet, which received intense discussion and a condemning response from many international structures and figures.
