The team of the EU civilian observation mission formed to be deployed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is already in Armenia and will be deployed promptly, ARMENPRESS reports, quoting TASS, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Luxembourg.
“Our team is already in Armenia. The mission will be launched promptly”, he said.
Earlier, a statement was posted on the official website of the European Council that the European Union has decided to send a 40-member observation mission to Armenia. It was stated that the purpose of the mission is to monitor, analyze and report on the situation in the region.
The message stated that this decision follows the four-sided meeting held on October 6 between the President of the European Council Charles Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
