Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, during the discussion of the 2023 state budget project, talking about his relations with neighboring countries, reminded that this year he had contacts with the leaders of all neighboring countries.
Referring to the relations with Turkey, Pashinyan highlighted the fact that this year he had a telephone conversation and a meeting with the head of Turkey.
“If you ask, very well. I think that we have a very important change in the situation, which in itself is not a deep and very practical, and objective result, but also, analyzing the situation, I realized that, for example, in the months of August-October, the communication complexities and complications in the relations with Turkey were overcome,” he said.
According to Pashinyan, “in the past, always and in all cases there was the question – to meet, not to meet, to talk, not to talk, which had a very great practical significance”.
“Today, that circumstance, that complexity, has essentially been eliminated, and I think not only at the level of the Government but also at the level of the public. This is very significant, because the Government, however, operates in the context of certain public perceptions, and, in fact, this is, by and large, not very substantive, but an important and significant change. We will consistently continue to move forward with the peace agenda,” he noted.
