Russia calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to refrain from steps that could destabilize the situation. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, told journalists about this, RIA Novosti reports.
“As in the past, as now, we call on both countries to refrain from actions and steps that could lead to an increase in tension,” said Peskov, addressing the question of the shootout between Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent days.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported that on the night of November 6-7, Azerbaijani units opened fire with different caliber rifles in the direction of Armenian positions located in the eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced that it was the Armenian side that fired in the direction of the Azerbaijani positions.
