According to EU assessment, democracy in Armenia is progressing – Michael Siebert to Nikol Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Managing Director of the European Union’s External Action Service for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE Affairs Michael Siebert and the delegation led by him.

Assessing the effectiveness of the RA-EU partnership, the Prime Minister highlighted the EU’s support for the process of implementing reforms in our country and noted that the RA Government is committed to continuing democratic reforms.

The RA Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction in relation with the holding of the European Political Community Summit in Prague on October 6 and in that context to mention the four-way meeting between himself, the President of Azerbaijan, the President of France and the President of the European Council within the framework of the summit.

Michael Siebert noted that, according to the EU’s assessment, democracy in Armenia is progressing, as evidenced by reforms in various fields, the active activity of civil society, and the EU will continue to support our country in this process.

The high-ranking EU official thanked the RA Prime Minister for his high assessment of the European Political Community Summit, noting that the idea of ​​making it continuous is under consideration.

Issues related to Armenia-EU partnership, regional security, Eastern Partnership program were discussed at the meeting.

Thoughts were exchanged on the activities of the EU observation mission in Armenia.
