1lurer.am During the NA-Government question-and-answer session, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the CSTO summit and Armenia’s expectations.
“Our expectation was two things. The first is to determine the area of responsibility of CSTO in RA. This is a fundamental question for building the right relationship. The second expectation was to give a clear political assessment of what happened.
Now there is a lot of emphases that there was help and we refused some help. This is very important to clarify, there is a line there to provide assistance, including military-technical assistance to Armenia. First of all, it is not clear what kind of help is offered.
Second, accepting that aid without clear evaluations would mean implicit and even direct acceptance of the status quo established within our borders. Accepting a monitoring mission from the CSTO in that area without a clear assessment will mean simply fixing and putting up with the status quo.
For example, it happened in Prague that the parties clearly record each other’s territorial integrity on the basis of the 1991 Alma Ata declaration, after which the mission of the EU observation mission to Armenia became possible,” Pashinyan said.
