The influential members of the UN Security Council have called for the immediate opening of the Lachin Corridor, Vice Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan told reporters.

“This is very important, and that’s also the result of a comprehensive work. We will do everything so that our brothers and sisters are able to travel along that corridor as soon as possible, and that the right to shipment of goods is restored,” Arshakyan added.

Asked if the UNSC has practical mechanisms aside from making a statement that would force Azerbaijan to open the corridor, Arshakyan said that the UNSC can adopt a resolution or apply various other political mechanisms. “We must do everything so that this toolbox gets fully utilized,” Arshakyan said.
