Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev again referred to the so-called “Zangezur Corridor” in an interview with local TV channels today.
“The “Zangezur Corridor” project is not only an economic and transport but also a strategic project for us, the implementation of this project is our natural right,” he said.
Referring to the observations that there is nothing about the so-called “Zangezur Corridor” in the tripartite statement of November 9/10, 2020, Aliyev said:
“It is true, there is no word “Zangezur Corridor” there, because after that I included the term “Zangezur Corridor” in the geopolitical lexicon, as they say. However, it is clearly stated there that there should be a transport connection between the western regions of Azerbaijan and the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan, and Armenia should ensure it. For us, this is a strategic project and not only for us but for several neighboring countries and large geography.”
