It is difficult to evaluate the position of the Armenian side, when the statements of the official Yerevan on the same issue differ significantly, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova stated.
She mentioned that, however, the Russian proposal to provide a platform for Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations on the peace treaty remains valid.
“If the Armenian partners are really interested in solving the mentioned problems at a high level and in the way of complex implementation of the tripartite agreements, then instead of engaging in mental exercises, it is necessary to continue the joint work,” Zakharova noted.
In addition, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Yerevan’s agreement in developing a peace treaty with Baku was based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991, which was confirmed in the statement made as a result of the summit held in Prague in October 2022. It has fundamentally changed the logic of the negotiation process.
