According to Ararat Mirzoyan, the international community’s clear position on the Lachin Corridor issue will bring a result |armenpress.am|

The international community has a fairly clear understanding of the situation in the Lachine Corridor, including who violated what obligations. Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan said this during the NA-Government question-and-answer session, referring to the results of the special session of the OSCE Permanent Council initiated by Armenia.

He reminded that on January 17, a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council was held at the initiative of Armenia, and there he made a speech, and other member states or organizations also expressed their positions.

“The discussion took place in a closed mode and I will not reserve the right to disclose individual details, but I can share a general impression.

My speech was followed by many speeches and from those speeches, it was obvious at least that the international community has a fairly clear idea about the situation in the Lachine Corridor, including by whom, what was violated, and what obligations should be fulfilled but are not being fulfilled.

I repeat that there is a clear awareness in the OSCE and not only. You may have seen the public positions of foreign ministries and parliaments of individual countries. I think these positions will lead to very specific results sooner or later,” Mirzoyan emphasized.

It should be reminded that since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has closed the Lachin Corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia, as a result of which 120,000 residents of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, are under siege. 1100 civilians, including 270 minors, cannot return to Artsakh from RA. On January 17, 19 children returned home on the Goris-Stepanakert road accompanied by Russian peacekeeping troops.

Due to the blockade, delivering 400 tons of food and medicine from RA to Artsakh every day is impossible. there is a shortage of food and medicine.

10 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units, and 9 patients are in the intensive care unit. 4 are in extremely serious condition. During these days, 34 Armenians and 4 foreigners in need of emergency medical care were transferred to RA only through the mediation of the Red Cross, and one of the patients died in Artsakh.

Since January 10, due to the accident, the electricity supply in Artsakh has been carried out on a four-hour schedule of fan outages.

Since the morning of January 18, Azerbaijan has once again disrupted the work of the only gas pipeline feeding Artsakh from Armenia.
