Ex-deputy PM Armen Gevorgyan calls on community leaders to refuse using administrative leverage

Former RA Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of Territorial Administration, Chief of Staff of the "Armenia" alliance Armen Gevorgyan has issued a statement appealing to the leaders of all communities in Armenia.

"Dear community leaders.

I appeal to you because I am confident in your patriotism and state consciousness.

I address you as a person who has worked for many years as the Minister of Territorial Administration and is well acquainted with the problems of the communities of Armenia. I appeal to you with the conviction that many of you are aware of my approaches to justice and principle. They have not changed.

Today we are facing a very important choice. I would not like to make this statement, but yes, we are in a situation where tomorrow may be really late. Tomorrow our regrets may not have any value, as they will not change the course of our history. We can turn this process in our favor only with the right choice on June 20. Only good wishes will not insure us from anything. This choice is as simple as it is complicated. The choice is about Armenia's existence, it is either in our unceasing humiliation or in our dignified peace.

Please, do not give in to the pressures of the current authorities.

We have a lot of work to do together, our country is wounded, they want to humiliate our people. Let's not allow it together. If we make a mistake today, if we give in today, if we break today, tomorrow may be too late.

Let's turn the page of defeat together," Gevorgyan wrote.
