Representatives of the Human Rights Defender visited persons temporarily residing in Stepanakert, displaced from the Khramort village of the Askeran region, Human Rights Defender of Artsakh reports.

As a result of the criminal actions of Azerbaijan, the normal life of Khramort and Parukh villages was disrupted, as a result of which more than 400 people, including women, children, and the elderly, suffered.

Some of the displaced persons have been temporarily accommodated in the apartments of relatives and friends, while others have been provided with temporary housing by the Government.

During private conversations with displaced persons, it turned out that basic assistance was provided by the administration of the Askeran region, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The Ministry of Social Development and Migration conducted a needs assessment.

The Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic provided food and hygiene items to DPs from Khramort and Parukh communities, financial assistance will also be provided.

The Human Rights Defender draws the attention of authorized bodies to the following problems:

- There is a high degree of psychological vulnerability among the displaced persons, it is necessary to implement measures of psychological support.

- Some families reported missing certain household items.

- The right of children to education is violated: in practice, children of preschool and school age displaced from these communities are deprived of the opportunity to receive education in their usual environment.

- It is not possible to realize the right to decent work among displaced persons from these communities.

HRD staff continue to monitor the protection of the rights of highly vulnerable people, in particular the displaced population. Recorded problems are collected and sent to the authorized state bodies.
