The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commented on the statement made yesterday by the diplomatic department of Armenia.

 "The next statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry about the ongoing protests on the road to Lachin is completely groundless and aims to cause confusion among international partners and artificially aggravate the situation," the MFA of Azerbaijan declares.

 "It is not surprising that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has completely distorted the complaints of representatives of the civil society of Azerbaijan, which are directed against the looting of our natural resources during the 30-year Armenian occupation.  It seems that the Armenian side intends to continue illegal economic and other activities in the territory of Azerbaijan.  We consider Armenia's calls to send any mission to the territory of Azerbaijan as another provocation directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country," the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reads.

It should be reminded that the RA Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor, deeming it necessary to send an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno Karabakh and the Lachin Corridor to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground, as well as to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to Nagorno Karabakh for relevant UN bodies.
