Ararat Mirzoyan and Ghada Fathi Waly discussed the prospects of cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the use of foreign mercenaries

On January 16, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting in Vienna with the Secretary General of the United Nations Office, the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Ghada Fathi Waly.

The RA Foreign Minister noted that Armenia gives great importance to the continuous expansion of cooperation with the UN system and specialized agencies.

 During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan referred to the reforms carried out by the RA government, including in the anti-corruption, judicial and police sectors.

 The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation and implementation of joint programs in the fight against corruption and economic crimes, as well as illegal drug trafficking, organized crime, use of foreign mercenary fighters and terrorism.

 In this regard, the implementation of the road map of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, signed last year, was highlighted.

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia also presented to the interlocutor the positions of Armenia regarding a number of regional issues.
