The Danish ambassador to Armenia and Georgia is concerned about the situation in the Lachin Corridor

The European Union is concerned about regional developments in the Lachine Corridor and reiterates its call to Azerbaijan to fully restore free movement. Danish Ambassador to Armenia and Georgia Anne Toft Sørensen wrote about this on Twitter.

"The EU is concerned reg developments on the Lachin Corridor and reiterates its call on Azerbaijan to fully restore freedom of movement! 🇪🇺 is increasingly alarmed about the negative humanitarian impact for Armenia and creates tensions that run contrary to much-needed confidence-building efforts," the ambassador wrote.

It should be reminded that since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has closed the Lachin Corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia, as a result of which 120,000 residents of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, are under siege. 1100 civilians, including 270 minors, cannot return to Artsakh from RA.

On January 17, 19 children returned home on the Goris-Stepanakert road accompanied by Russian peacekeeping troops.

Because of the blockade, delivering 400 tons of food and medicine from RA to Artsakh every day is impossible. there is a shortage of food and medicine.

10 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units, and 9 patients are in the intensive care unit. 4 are in extremely serious condition. During these days, 34 Armenians and 4 foreigners in need of emergency medical care were transferred to RA only through the mediation of the Red Cross, and one of the patients died in Artsakh.

Since January 10, due to the accident, the electricity supply in Artsakh has been carried out on a four-hour schedule of fan outages.

Since the morning of January 18, Azerbaijan has once again disrupted the work of the only gas pipeline feeding Artsakh from Armenia.
