A meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in any format is not planned in the near future. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a press conference.
"At the moment, no meeting is scheduled. I have never avoided a meeting, but on the other hand, the experience of our meetings shows that there should be guarantees about the fulfillment of agreements and commitments," he said.
The head of the government noticed that in the previous meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels, the parties reached various agreements, but their implementation became impossible because of the actions of the Azerbaijani side.
"Armenia is ready to continue the work in the Brussels format but says - let's start implementing what we have agreed point by point. If there are more than ten agreements that are not implemented, what is the point of working on agreeing on something new? And those agreements related to Nagorno-Karabakh, border security, the opening of regional communications, the release of prisoners, etc.," the Prime Minister said, noting that he sees a fundamental problem with the Brussels format.
According to Pashinyan's assessment, the most effective negotiations, which were crowned with a clear result, took place in Prague in a quadrilateral format with the participation of France. Moreover, the Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan opposes this format.
