Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev confirmed Baku’s readiness to sign a peace treaty with Armenia at the meeting with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in Baku today.
“Our position is very open. We want to conclude a peace treaty with Armenia. We want to improve relations and turn the page of enmity. Today we discussed the situation in the region, the process of settling relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I know that after your visit to Azerbaijan, you (the President of Lithuania – ed.) will visit Armenia. Thus, I’m sure that after the visit you will form a full-fledged opinion,” Aliyev said.
The two leaders also discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus, Lithuania-Azerbaijan cooperation in the fields of economy, energy and transport, as well as EU-Azerbaijan relations.
