EU observers went to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to patrol

EU observers left for their first patrol in Armenia. In the next two months, the EU observation mission will monitor the situation on the Armenian side of the border in order to build trust and support the work of the border commissions. This was announced by the EU Security Protection Service, headed by Josep Borrell, the High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs of the European Union.

It should be reminded that on October 6, the four-way meeting of Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, Emmanuel Macron, and Charles Michel took place in Prague. A statement was adopted as a result of the meeting. According to the statement, Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, Armenia expressed its agreement to encourage the EU civilian mission along the border with Azerbaijan. The purpose of the mission will be to build confidence and support the border commissions through its reports.
