Official Moscow is concerned about the recent incidents on certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which led to the loss of human life.
This was stated by the Deputy spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Bikantov, stressing that Russia is ready to continue to provide the necessary support for the normalization of the situation. Bikantov also expressed his condolences to the families of killed servicemen and wished wounded servicemen a speedy recovery.
“Unfortunately, the situation on the border continues to be tense. We urge both parties to refrain from actions that could further exacerbate the situation and resolve all issues through political and diplomatic means. Russia is ready to continue to provide the necessary assistance to normalize the situation through de-escalation measures and launch of joint activities aimed at demarcating the border. We intend to actively work on turning South Caucasus into a region of stability, security and prosperity based on the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation on November 9 2020 and January 11, 2021”, – this was stated in a message published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
