On February 17, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Lila Peters Yahya, United Nations Acting Resident Coordinator in Armenia.
Minister Mirzoyan commended the effective cooperation with the UN Office in Armenia and stressed the need for continuous close cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies in order to strengthen the democratic institutions in Armenia and effectively implement the sustainable development goals.
The interlocutors also touched upon the upcoming events within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Armenia’s membership to the UN.
The sides discussed the humanitarian issues resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh. Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need for the unhindered involvement of the relevant international organizations in Nagorno-Karabakh, including the UN and UN agencies.
