There were 12 families in Nerkin Sus, of which only one remained in the village – a single woman, who will also leave the village on August 25. This was stated by Mkhitar Nersisyan, head of the village of Nerkin Sus.
“Residents have mostly moved to Armenia. One resident has expressed his desire to stay in Artsakh, we are cooperating with Artsakh authorities to accommodate him in Artsakh. Those displaced residents who lived here until August 25 will be given a certificate to purchase an apartment,” said the head of the village.
In response to the question, of whether or not there were any bans on the residents of Nerkin Sus from burning their houses or talking about being deprived of assistance, Mkhitar Nersisyan gave a negative answer.
“Before the residents left, they turned their own houses into rubble. They also demolished the school building so that Azerbaijanis would not come and enjoy it, they did not burn houses, they just demolished them. The residents are very restless, upset, uncertain, they think about how and where they will live, and it is difficult to build a house from scratch,” Mkhitar Nersisyan said.
The latter also mentioned that before leaving, the residents took the bodies of their dead relatives with them.
“7 graves were moved from Inner Sus to Armenia, exhumed, and reburied in Armenia. There were also khachkars and monuments in the village, all of them were removed from the village,” Nersisyan said.
It should be reminded that the Aghavno, Berdzor, and Nerkin Sus settlements of the Kashatagh region must be handed over to the Azerbaijani side on August 25.
