The Russian peacekeeping troops have placed 2 observation posts in the territory of the new corridor connecting Armenia with Artsakh, through which they exercise control over that area.
Let’s note that in the old corridor through which the Goris-Aghavno-Berdzor-Stepanakert road passed, there were 6 observation posts. 2 of them were located on the road itself, and the remaining 4 were located on the roads providing entry and exit to the corridor area.
In its bulletin dated August 31, the Russian peacekeeping contingent announced that due to the change in the new route of the Lachin Corridor, the location of the observation posts of the contingent was adjusted. As a result of this process, 3 more observation points were added to the 27 observation points, and now the military group has 30 observation points in its area of responsibility. However, it should be noted that the number of observation posts has increased in the territory under the control of the Republic of Artsakh, and there are now 2 observation posts in the section of the new corridor instead of the previous 6.
Observation points N1 and N2 of the Russian side are now in the corridor.
