Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the permanent rapporteur on Armenian issues in the European Parliament, Andrei Kovachev. This was reported by the Prime Minister’s Office’s Information and Public Relations Department.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the activity of Mr. Kovachev and the cooperation with the European Parliament, which stems from the democratic reform agenda of the RA Government. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the mediation efforts of the EU towards achieving peace in the region and the observation mission of the EU on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the course of democratic reforms, regional issues, the situation around Nagorno Karabakh, border demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and other issues. Nikol Pashinyan referred to the issue of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages, and other detained persons kept in Azerbaijan until now, expressed gratitude to the European Parliament for the resolutions adopted to ensure their return and emphasized the continuous efforts of the Council of Europe in this direction.
Within the framework of the meeting, reference was made to the report to be published by the European Parliament in the near future.
