Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed issues relating to the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict during their meeting today in Sochi, RIA Novosti reports.
The Russian President stated that now the key task is to ensure peace and stability in the region, as well as to unblock the transportation infrastructures.
Putin said that it is necessary to stop the long-term confrontation. “We see the approaches of our partners on what is happening on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and around Karabakh. This conflict has been going on for decades, therefore, it needs to stop at some point. Do you agree with this? I know that you have the political will of that, and we always confirm it”, Putin said during the meeting with Pashinyan.
The Russian leader also highlighted the importance of introducing certainty in key matters during the upcoming trilateral meeting, which, he said, will help to move forward.
