Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan commented on Azerbaijan’s recent provocation when the latter blocked the road linking Armenia with Artsakh, leaving Artsakh in the blockade.
Asked by Member of Parliament Arman Yeghoyan during question time, Mirzoyan said that the closure of the Lachin corridor would constitute a gross violation of the November 9 statement. However, as a result of negotiations conducted by the Russian peacekeeping command, the issue was swiftly resolved.
“And generally I think that the sides can present complaints, proposals, or demands to each other only within the framework of the agreements which have been reached, recorded, and accepted by all sides and are well known. Of course, we must record that the situation is fragile, issues are not resolved, and the presentation of new demands can only be aimed at escalating the situation, intentionally or unintentionally is a matter for interpretation,” the FM said.
