Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a telephone conversation. In addition to other issues, the parties also discussed the regional “3+3” format, Iranian Mehr News Agency reports.
According to the Iranian side, Lavrov welcomed the holding of the second meeting in the “3+3” regional format in Iran and expressed hope that it would further ensure the interests of the countries of the region and preserve regional stability and security.
The Iranian Foreign Minister called the upcoming meeting in the “3+3” format “a great opportunity to establish interaction and deepen regional cooperation in accordance with the interests of the countries and nations of the region.”
