On July 26, Ambassador Lynne Tracy visited Gegharkunik province with the Ministry of Defense.
Representatives from the Armenian Armed Forces briefed Ambassador Tracy on the current situation. The Ambassador reiterated the United States’ concern over incidents along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and underscored that the United States rejects the use of force to demarcate the border.
She also emphasized that the United States, as a Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, remains deeply committed to working with all parties to achieve a long-term political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabkh conflict. The United States urges the sides to return to Minsk Group Co-Chair led negotiations as soon as possible.
