Japan is an important partner for Armenia, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said yesterday in New York, during a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.

The importance of using the great potential in the field of bilateral Armenian-Japanese trade and economic relations more effectively, as well as the importance of promoting investments, was emphasized.

Mirzoyan underlined Japan's continued support for the development of Armenia's capabilities in various fields.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented to Yoshimasa Hayashi the details of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13 and emphasized the importance of the international community's continuous pressure on Azerbaijan in order to eliminate its consequences.

He condemned the aggressive and fanatical policy pursued by Azerbaijan, which undermines efforts aimed at establishing stability and peace in the region.

Minister Mirzoyan also presented to the interlocutor the position of the Armenian side regarding Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
