Deputy PM of Armenia and the Ambassador of Japan discussed the consequences of Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against Armenia

On September 30, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received Masanori Fukushima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia. This was reported by the office of Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan.

Referring to the thirty-year history of diplomatic relations with Japan, Matevosyan emphasized the efforts aimed at the continuous deepening of friendly relations between the two countries.

The interlocutors especially emphasized the need to realize the existing potential in bilateral political and economic relations, including in the fields of information technology, innovation, digitization, and tourism.

Along with the need to expand the agenda of bilateral economic and political cooperation, the Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Masanori Fukushima highlighted the importance of initiating human contacts and youth exchange programs in order to deepen the bilateral cultural dialogue.

During the meeting, the consequences of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of RA on September 13 were also discussed. Ambassador Fukushima informed about the previous day's visit to the affected settlements of the Gegharkunik region with the heads of accredited diplomatic missions in RA, expressing concern about the situation, as well as reaffirming Japan's willingness to contribute to the peaceful settlement of problems.
