Within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigation Department of the General Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, the necessary measures are being taken to find out all the circumstances of the death of the serviceman of the N military unit of the RA Defense.

According to preliminary data, on September 30, 2022, at around 11:40 pm, a conscript soldier who was on duty in a combat position in the military unit's security area, hearing footsteps, thought that it was a soldier of the enemy's armed forces and violating the RA Ministry of Defense's regulations on combat duty, shot from the "АКМ" type assault rifle attached to him in the direction of a fellow soldier, as a result of which he received fatal gunshot injuries.

As a result of the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the incident, the soldier who fired the shots was arrested on suspicion of having committed a crime under Article 540, Part 6 of the RA Criminal Code.

An investigation is underway.
